President : Kenneth Smith
Ken is founder and president of
the company. He was born and grew up in Lindsay, Ontario.
He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Engineers. After serving eight
years, he returned to Lindsay and eventually became a plant manager of a
local veneer mill and molded plywood production facility in
Gravenhurst
,
Ontario. After five years he became plant General Manager, then he decided to
develop his own molded plywood manufacturing company in1988.
Sales & Service Manager:
Audrey Matchett
Audrey
has been working in the Veneer and Molded Plywood business since 1974, and
started working for Bent Ply in 1988. She has had hands on training from
Veneer Lathe operator to the finishing of plywood furniture components.
In 1995 she took over the sales and service position.
Plant Manager: Kevin
Smith
Kevin Smith, eldest son of Ken and Betty, has been
with Bent Ply since its inception. He now supervises all daily
operations, from the Presses to the Finishing touches, including
paint/stain applications if the customer so desires. Fully trained and
certified in C. N. C. (computerized numeric controlled) router
programming and operation, He also holds W.H.M.I.S. and Canadian Red
Cross First Aid certificates.
Tool & Die Maker: Roy
Forsythe
Roy
has been working in the Veneer and Molded Plywood Business since 1971, and
started working for Bent Ply in 1990. He has experience in veneer
production, pressing production, and finishing. His special talents are
mould making and high frequency maintenance.
